I can't believe I'm about to write this... Jared and I went to Hawaii for a week! We are definitely tropical vacation dreamers, and always talked about going somewhere when we had the chance. Then, we blinked and had our TENTH wedding anniversary!
Would you believe we didn't pay for the flight OR the condo and the kids stayed with grandma? This is how it happened:
My brother/sister-n-law's family booked a trip for the 6 of them to go to Kauai. For the flights they used their saved up credit card points. Tyler and Taylor used their points from their newly acquired timeshare for the condo. Not too many weeks before the trip four of them had to cancel. Of course you can't get your points back once you've booked a trip. They actually offered to let us go instead. After we made sure they positively couldn't go, we said YES! How could we have said no?
Kauai is named the garden island. Once we got there it was easy to see why. We are so thankful to the Cox family and Tyler and Taylor for inviting us to Hawaii. How can you repay someone for taking you there for a week without the kids not to mention only having to pay for food and fun? We can't. But, I am trying to put together a really nice dvd of our whole trip to get started.
This is one of our pictures and to see a small slideshow scroll to the bottom of this blog!
